At around 7:15 a.m., a 20-year-old Romanian was driving his car on the Innkreis motorway (A8) in the direction of Voralpenkreuz. His 51-year-old father was sitting in the passenger seat, and behind him was a 23-year-old Romanian. The driver arrived just before the Haag/H motorway exit, presumably due to a microsleep. to the right and crashed into an impact absorber without braking. The passenger, who according to initial investigations was probably not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown through the windshield and ended up several meters in front of the car. He suffered serious injuries and was flown to UKH Linz with the Christophorus rescue helicopter. The driver and the 23-year-old were taken to hospitals with injuries of an unspecified degree. The completely damaged car was towed away.
