At the end of the season, the young motocross talents from HSV Ried once again achieved top results. Above all, Noah Jonas, who secured the national motocross championship title in the 85 cc class at the final in Herzogsdorf two weeks ago after finishing as runner-up in the national championship – even though the final races in the Mühlviertel didn’t go as planned for the “rookie”. .
“I was in pole position, but unfortunately I had bad starts in the races,” says Jonas. The HSV rider fell off his bike a total of three times. However, with a courageous performance, he was still able to celebrate the national championship title. “The title is of course great. 2023 was a cool season,” says Jonas, who was not the only HSV driver to return from Herzogsdorf with a sense of success.
Nicko Kinz, who also took part in the 85cc races, was happy with fifth place in the daily ranking. Behind them were Christoph Edlinger in sixth place and Karl Thalhammer in eighth place. Thalhammer also secured the runner-up title in the state championship standings. With Luka Huber, another HSV young driver made it into the top 15 in the daily ranking. In this, Raphael Edlinger took second place on the podium in the 50 cc class.
Hard fall
Tobias Ebster, however, had less luck in the World Rally Championship race in preparation for the Dakar Rally, which takes place in January. After a serious fall including a dislocated shoulder, Ebster had to give up early. From the current perspective, the Dakar Rally is not in danger.
