The state telecommunications company launched, on Tuesday, the Antel Open Laba digital technological development laboratory, which seeks to influence service improvements through technological solutions, for example, in areas of commercial logistics, using the network 5G.
The initiative has the support of Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM)the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII)the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (CUTI), Uruguay Innovation Hub and the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU).
The Minister of Industry, Omar Paganini, commented that the initiative was born in 2020, when they dreamed of an open laboratory that would allow innovative ideas to be developed. Later the idea underwent modifications based on the development achieved by Antel.
“Its execution capacity makes us see this project with auspicious eyes, it will surely be successful because behind it is Antel and we know that it delivers when it is proposed, as it has been demonstrating in recent years,” said the leader and added that “it is very good news” that Uruguay have an open laboratory for entrepreneurs and companies to develop new technologies associated with the system 5Gused for this a radio base that will work in the LATU.
“It is of interest to everyone that there are new applications of technologies such as 5Gthe internet of things, Artificial intelligence and Big Dataand we know that these applications are starting to emerge around the world. Uruguay “has the opportunity to be at the forefront in this sense, not only in the field of telecommunications, but also in areas such as smart logistics, health, telemedicine and finance,” highlighted the Secretary of Industry.

What developments have Antel Open Lab already used?
