Pictures say more than a thousand words; but there is no substitute for a personal impression. This was also evident yesterday at the opening day of the Caravan Salon 2023 in Wels. Some visitors gently tapped on the caravan walls, others ran their hands over the seating and folded out space-saving tables.
That’s why Franz Kramer traveled with his wife Martina from Deggendorf in Germany: “We’re looking for a camper and want to see how the interior is set up.” The Caravan Salon is the best opportunity for this: “The dealer may have models from one or two brands. Everyone is gathered here – even small manufacturers with exciting ideas,” says Kramer.

Thomas Neugebauer, chairman of the Austrian Caravan Trade Association (ÖCHV), is positive: “Interest in camping is very high, we are hoping for a record number of visitors this year.” As the leading trade fair, the Caravan Salon is the start of the season for the Austrian caravan industry: “The next five days are an indicator for us of how the coming year will go,” says Neugebauer.
The Caravan Salon in Wels is still pitching its tents until Sunday. 218 national and international exhibitors with 71 brands and a program on three stages await visitors.
