Master carpenter Lisa Aschl from Aistersheim won two of the coveted Lignoram Awards. No one has ever achieved this in the 21-year history of the prize.
Twelve champions from all over Austria were nominated. Combining individual design and perfect workmanship with functionality are the main criteria of the competition in Riedau. Aschl was able to convince the expert jury with her masterpiece “Hidden Sounds” and achieved second place. The audience was also enthusiastic and gave her the most votes.
The master carpenter calls her masterpiece “Hidden Sounds” because the function of the elegant piece of furniture cannot be seen when closed. If you open the suitcase doors, a piano and a saxophone are revealed – complete with a stool and storage space for mouthpieces, sheet music, etc. Lisa Aschl virtuously gave the historic piano mechanics from 1909 a new look that is reminiscent of Viennese Art Nouveau.
The exquisite, very special masterpieces can be seen in the LIGNORAMA wood and tool museum in Riedau until October 29th.
