For the 34th time, the Steyr Hapé Schreiberhuber is inviting people to its Styraburg Festival, which was launched in 2007. The kick-off will take place tomorrow, Saturday. Two exquisite classical concerts and a jazz matinee can be experienced at Lamberg Castle until November 12th. There are also two visual art exhibitions, a photo performance and a literature reading on the program.
At the opening on Saturday at 10 a.m., the festival offers selected works of painting, drawing and photography in the castle gallery with free admission. There will also be a music drawing performance. Highlights of chamber music will follow a week later on Friday, October 27th, from 7:30 p.m. by the Styraburg Ensemble with pianist Nami Ejiri. The famous Mozart Piano Concerto in A major, KV 488 and the also well-known Forellen Quintet by Schubert, composed in Steyr, can be heard. The following day, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., the shooting star of the piano world follows: Sergey Belyavsky plays compositions by Schumann, Liszt and “Rhapsody in Blue” by Gershwin. The brand new jazz quartet by percussionist András Dés will complement the concert series with a Sunday matinee on Sunday, October 29th at 10:30 a.m.

A week later, Hapé Schreiberhuber himself starts the final weekend of the Styraburg Festival with the reading “Signs of the Times”. On Friday, November 3rd, from 7:30 p.m. in the Hapé Castle Studio, he will take a literary approach to signs. The concert series will ceremonially conclude with “Atlantic Oceans Sounds,” a sound performance by the Steyr photographer Ron Sandmayr, on Saturday, November 4th, at 7:30 p.m.
The festival pass costs 120 euros and is transferable. The number of seats is limited!
