As a follow-up to the 1200th anniversary celebrated in the summer, Ried is expecting a musical contribution to the celebrations this Wednesday. Johann Stegfellner, former bandmaster of the Ried market music band, used the anniversary as an opportunity to compose a symphonic work in four movements for wind orchestra, choir and organ.
The premiere of the work entitled “Reoda” will take place on October 25th in the Marienkirche Niederzirking. You can hear the Ried music band under the direction of Stefan Stegfellner as well as an anniversary choir, led by Thomas Diwold and put together especially for this concert, consisting of singers from the Ried choirs.
“I know that I demand a lot from the Rieder musicians in some parts of my composition. I am very happy that they are so committed to it,” says Johann Steg-fellner about his work. Kapellmeister Stefan Stegfellner adds: “Such an extensive musical joint project is unique in the history of the Marktmusikkapelle and the entire place. Everyone is aware that this co-production is something truly extraordinary. The commitment of everyone involved is correspondingly great.”
The concert will take place on October 25th with free admission at 8 p.m. in the Marienkirche Nieder-zirking. In addition to the symphony “Reoda”, which lasts almost 40 minutes, other works such as “Hallelujah” by Georg Friedrich Handel can also be heard.
