“There are no abnormalities,” confirmed the spokeswoman for the Linz public prosecutor, Ulrike Breiteneder, in a report in “Heute” that evening. The dog was therefore healthy.
The public prosecutor’s office expects the result of the DNA comparison, which is intended to clarify whether only the male dog or two other dogs bit the jogger on a dirt path, to be available at the turn of the year. The investigation into suspicion of grossly negligent homicide against the 37-year-old owner is currently still ongoing, Breiteneder continued.
The woman was out with three dogs that day. Everyone was on a leash and two of them had a muzzle. The male dog was euthanized after the attack, and all of the breeder’s other dogs were lost. The mayor of Naarn ordered the woman and her partner to be banned from keeping dogs for an indefinite period of time. Breiteneder denies allegations that she trained the animals “to be sharp.”
