The confessed 43-year-old is said to have hoarded around 14,000 shipments, including 263 official documents, from June 2022 to April 2023 in his apartment, in his car and in a locker in the delivery base. When he was transferred to a more western region in the Seekirchen area at the beginning of 2022, the work overload increased, he described. “There were 40 to 50 boxes there when I came back from vacation. The jury assessed the confession, the previous cleanliness, the exceptional psychological situation and the professional overload as mitigating factors. “You asked for help but didn’t get it,” the judge stated. With a punishment range of six months to five years, “this is a very lenient sentence.” The man is still on sick leave. He wants to go back to work in November.
