At around 3:30 p.m., a Linz police patrol wanted to confiscate the license plates from a 33-year-old from Linz in the Kleinmünchen district on official orders. When he opened the apartment door, the 33-year-old immediately became aggressive and loudly expressed his displeasure.

Suddenly he tried to slam the door – this was prevented by an officer putting his foot inside. Suddenly the man took a step back, reached for the coat rack and pulled out a wooden ax and approached the police officers with a threatening gesture. They retreated into the stairwell and were unable to get the aggressive man to move. When he slammed the door and discovered another police patrol, he shouted out the window and threatened to clarify this “face to face”.

He then came out of the apartment with a wooden handle. Several patrols were called in to assist. The rapid intervention group intervened armed with a Taser – but he didn’t let that stop him and suddenly attacked the police officers with the wooden handle and hit them. The Taser, which had already been announced, was used and was ultimately able to stop the man.

In this attack he injured two police officers, who then went to the hospital. When the officers searched his apartment, they found several weapons on the 33-year-old, who is under a weapons ban. These include two blank pistols, a baton, a blackjack, various knives, an axe, a baseball bat and small amounts of cannabis.

The arrested man was slightly injured, medically examined and finally taken to the Linz police detention center.
