After examining several reports, there was no initial suspicion of a possible violation of the prohibition law, said the spokeswoman for the Vienna public prosecutor’s office, Romina Kaschnitz-Biegl, on Saturday, confirming corresponding media reports. The public prosecutor’s office therefore refrained from investigating.

The Greens, among others, criticized Heinzlmaier’s T-shirt at a press conference with Youth State Secretary Claudia Plakolm (ÖVP) in the Federal Chancellery in August. The Greens saw a band’s logo reminiscent of runes as “symbols popular with right-wing extremists” and announced that they would examine a statement of the facts. Heinzlmaier rejected the criticism and referred to his taste in music.
