A 39-year-old from the Ried district was driving her car on the B148 from Ort im Innkreis towards Altheim. A driver following behind, a 34-year-old Romanian, wanted to overtake the car turning left, but overlooked the oncoming traffic. There was a collision between the two cars and the oncoming car of a 47-year-old Hungarian citizen.
The Romanian’s car overturned and ended up on its roof. The Hungarian’s car slid about a hundred meters further and stopped in a ditch. The 39-year-old was trapped in her car and had to be freed by the fire department. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to the Ried im Innkreis hospital.
The Katzenberg, Kirchdorf and Moosham fire departments were on duty with seven vehicles and 45 people. The B148 was closed until 6 a.m.
