The leader of the Colorado Party (PC) and exedil of Montevideo, Andres Ojedaproposed a “shock of maximum renewal” within the political force.
In dialogue with Telemundo, the criminal lawyer assured that he is working on forming technical teams to support his eventual candidacy. Regarding these teams, he explained that they have red representatives from different departments of the country, who have integrated different sectors within the traditional party.
“We need a shock of maximum renewal,” he emphasized. Ojedawho added that we must “tell people” that the PC “has a future and is worth it.”
Regarding this, he stated that, today, the “menu” offered by the PC “is missing that,” in reference to the renewal of candidates and ideas.
The former Montevideo mayor went further and pointed out against the structure of the party: “I mean changing everything, making the party different, making the bet different.”
Likewise, he indicated that before the end of the year he will make public his decision on a potential presidential run. “Yes, I am considering being a candidate,” remarked the Colorado leader.
Who are the confirmed candidates of the Colorado Party?
So far, there are five presidential candidates who are confirmed for the PC internal in 2024.
In the last hours, as it was considered, the Minister of Tourism and former mayor of Rivera, Tabaré Vieraconfirmed his pre-candidacy.
They did the same former president of Antel, Gabriel Gurméndezand the former president of the Central Board of Directors (they code) of the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), Robert Silvawho resigned from their positions to enter the electoral race.
Last Friday, the former prosecutor and deputy, Gustavo Zubia, made his pre-candidacy official; just as the director of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM), Guzmán Acosta y Lara.
