The date for this festival is a very special one, as the chairman of the Innviertel Artists’ Guild (IKG), Klauszeugner, explains. Exactly 100 years to the day after its founding, the Innviertel Artists’ Guild is celebrating this anniversary with a big party on Saturday, November 11th, from 1:30 p.m. in the Ried State Music School. A wide range of activities are on the program until the evening – performances, concerts, readings, encounters – with free admission.
“Our anniversary year reaches its climax and conclusion with this celebration. It’s actually amazing what we’ve achieved this year,” says Werner Bauböck, who is largely responsible for the conception of the anniversary year and the celebration event. The anniversary year has been in the works for around three years. “We organized 27 events, including 23 exhibitions with visual art. It was very visually focused. The other branches of the guild should also have a stage at the festival,” says Werner Bauböck.
Masquerade before the ceremony
A first artistic program item will take place before the ceremony (beginning at 2 p.m.) with speeches by State Governor Thomas Stelzer and Cultural Office Director Margot Nazzal. Members of the guild will move in at 1:30 p.m. wearing masks they have designed over the past few weeks. The keynote speech will be given by sculptor, educator, university professor and IKG member Rolf Laven. Title of his lecture: “The Innviertel Artists’ Guild in turbulent times”.
Performance contributions will be shown again and again between individual concerts and readings. “Overall, it is a very committed and colorful program,” explain the IKG chairmen.
