The fire brigade and rescue service were on duty on a farm in the town of Haging on Tuesday morning: a serious industrial accident occurred on a construction site around 11:30 a.m. A 43-year-old fell around four meters from a scaffold while compacting concrete. He probably lost his balance on an unfixed wooden board and hit the concrete floor, the police said on Tuesday afternoon.

The Oberbrunn and Pattigam fire departments and the height rescuers from the Ried im Innkreis fire department arrived to rescue the injured person. The 43-year-old suffered such serious injuries in the fall that he had to be taken to the hospital in Ried im Innkreis.

There was also a serious accident at work in the Mühlviertel on Tuesday: a 35-year-old woodworker got his left arm caught in a machine in a sawmill in Tragwein. He alerted his colleagues to the accident by screaming. They immediately switched off the system and freed the victim. After emergency medical first aid, the 35-year-old Czech was admitted to the UKH Linz with injuries of an indeterminate degree.
