Shock for a 24-year-old dog owner from the Grieskirchen district: The young woman was walking with her dog on a leash in the Innbach area in Wallern on Sunday afternoon when the four-legged friend suddenly yelped loudly. The animal had gotten into a forbidden iron that strangers had set up – the police said it was probably intended to use it to kill the strictly protected beaver that had settled there.
Dog survived seriously injured
The brackets of the trap caught the dog in the neck area and crushed him. It was only after around 25 minutes that the owner and her grandfather, whom she had called for help, managed to free the already lifeless animal. The dog was seriously injured, but was saved thanks to immediate veterinary treatment. The police are now looking for the person who laid the trap and are asking for information to the Bad Schallerbach inspection on 059133 4231.
