“Thanks to the great response from the population and funding commitments from the federal government, the two communities will be accessible with the fastest possible Internet technology,” says a release from the company Infotech, based in Ried im Innkreis. In Schardenberg, Infotech is completing the fiber optic expansion begun by Broadband Oberösterreich GmbH to provide comprehensive coverage in the municipal area.
In Aspach and Schardenberg, a total of around 650 households will have access to fiber optic technology.
“Our fiber optic network has grown rapidly in recent years and now covers around 590 kilometers. We are very pleased that with Aspach and Schardenberg another almost 25 kilometers of route will be added. The residents in the project areas will be successively connected in the coming months and will be able to benefit from fiber optic technology,” says Dietmar Huber, fiber optic project manager at Infotech.
