The new additions include US rapper Missy Elliott, folk rock singer Sheryl Crow and British pop star George Michael, who died in 2016. The band Rage Against the Machine, the British singer-songwriter Kate Bush, the R&B band The Spinners and country icon Willie Nelson are now also represented in the hall of fame in Cleveland (Ohio). Sheryl Crow sang her hit “If It Makes You Happy” with Olivia Rodrigo at the honor at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Kate Bush stayed away from the honor
George Michael was introduced by his former colleague in the band “Wham!”, Andrew Ridgeley, before US singer Carrie Underwood performed his song “One More Try”. Kate Bush stayed away from the honor without giving a reason.
The new additions were announced in May. A jury of more than a thousand musicians, music historians and other industry representatives decide on a coveted place in the Hall of Fame. Recording is possible for the first time 25 years after a musician’s first commercial release. While the Hall of Fame was originally intended for rock & roll musicians, it has increasingly opened up to other styles. In 2022, US rapper Eminem and country queen Dolly Parton, among others, were inducted into the hall of fame.
