The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported today that they bombed “two terrorist cells” and an observation post of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah in southern Lebanon in response to attempted shootings into Israeli territory.

“In response to two terrorist cells that attempted to fire from Lebanon into Israeli territory, the Israeli Army attacked the cells and a Hezbollah observation post,” the IDF said in a statement.

According to the note, they also responded to mortar fire from Lebanon towards towns “in the north of Israel”, without any injuries being reported, according to the AFP news agency.

Since October 7, Israel has been at war with the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, triggered by an unprecedented attack on Israeli soil.

Since then, the border between Lebanon and Israel has been the scene of frequent exchanges of fire between the Israeli Army, on the one hand, and the powerful Lebanese Shiite movement and its allies, which support Hamas, on the other.

In his first speech since the start of the conflict, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah yesterday accused the United States of being “fully responsible” for the war between Israel and Hamas while disengaging his group from the October 7 operation. noting that it was “100 percent Palestinian.”

He also warned Israel that it would be “stupid” to attack Lebanon and added that stopping the “aggression against Gaza” would avoid a regional conflict.
