The trend of ensuring the general well-being of employees beyond the physical comforts in the workplace is growing in the world and beginning to develop in the Uruguay.
Hand in hand with the pandemic, the process was accelerated by which companies, of all sizes, understood that in addition to offering employment stabilityit is important to guarantee physical and emotional well-being.
Pase Libre found a niche in this new business philosophy and, with more than 800 services throughout Uruguay and activities ranging from Pilates and yoga to tennis, this platform already has more than 100 client companies with some 15,000 active users in various fields.
“Our mission is to provide well-being to company employees,” he told Ambit Pablo Elissalde, commercial director of the company. “In our case we target the corporate sector. The companies subsidize a large part of the fee (between 50% and 80% of the total depending on the plan) and the employee has access to all the activities and sports clubs that we offer without limits,” he explained.
The platform pays gyms monthly depending on user usage. For the Free Pass reference, the proposal works for all three parties: company, employee and gym. “The company provides a benefit that improves productivityabsenteeism and turnover decrease, and we bring new clients to the sports centers through companies,” he indicated.
Elissalde noted that it often happened that a company’s agreement with a club or activity limited access. Although Pase Libre was born as a company that in its first years focused one hundred percent on benefits mostly of a sporting nature, in recent times it has added more exhaustive development. “We are considering having a revolution from the point of view of what we want to offer to companies in the field of well-being,” said the commercial head.
It was there that the Wellness Pass was launched in October, which allows companies not only to offer access to sports centers, but also to healthy nutrition and another option with services that have to do with mental health through alliances with partners who are therapists.
“It has been proven that people who lead a healthy life have a higher level of productivity than those who do not. There are numbers that show that only between 5% and 6% of the population does regular physical activity, which is why we have a great challenge ahead of us,” added Elissalde.
Pablo Elissalde says that after four years of activity in the Uruguay “The time has come, we have the knowledge and confidence necessary to begin expanding in the region in the first instance”, a fact that is planned for next year.
How Free Pass works
On March 1, the company launched the Paselibre app, through which users can search for participating centers and activities with geolocation, also allowing them to check in at the center directly.
The system is divided into four options, according to the level. Silver Plan which is the basic, Gold, Black and now the Diamond service will be available. The user manages all of this, materializing it through an application that once their company provides access through geolocation, the person sees what alternatives they have to operate and also choose a sports center.
