But in the first polls for the second round, the leftist candidate achieves greater endorsements: 40.4% of those consulted gave their support to Boric, while 24.5% to Kast, according to the study by Pulso Ciudadano, released by channel13.
Meanwhile, the newspaper El Mercurio published a survey conducted by the specialized firm Black and White with narrower differences: Boric obtained 44% of the support while Kast 41%.
“It is a very close competition, they are very close. Marginally, to the millimeter, Boric would be won,” said Paola Assael, an economist at the Catholic University and representative of Black And White.
While, the percentage of undecided is around 15.6% according to the polls, while the people who say they will abstain from voting in the second round reach up to 16%.
About 15 million people are qualified to vote in the second round of Chile.
