ROHRBACH MOUNTAIN. The days that the people of Rohrbach managed without an indoor swimming pool in their district are numbered. The Aqaro opens its doors for the first time on December 17th – exactly as planned. This means that an unprecedented joint project involving all district communities is nearing completion. For everyone who can hardly wait, there are the first details: The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 22nd, and after almost 20 months of construction, the Aqaro will open its doors to the first visitors on December 17th at 10 a.m. School swimming takes place from Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The pool is open to everyone from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., as well as on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. During the holidays it operates daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is also not closed on Mondays on public holidays and during the holidays. It’s only completely closed at Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Most modern adventure pool

In what is then the most modern adventure pool in Upper Austria, there is not only a 25-meter pool, but also a family pool with various attractions and a small children’s area. A tube water slide “From the Bohemian Forest to the Danube” with a length of 50 meters leading out into the open air was created, as was a diving tower (one and three meters). The new bouldering wall says “Climb your Rohrbach district”. The new aquacross facility is probably the least known. This offers fun and a sporting challenge at the same time: children and young people, but also adults, get their money’s worth here. The adventure trail consists of different elements such as stirrups and rings, climbing ladders and wobbly beams, hanging pipes and plates suspended on ropes above the water – if you slip, you end up in the water.

Hewal cooks in the restaurant

The Pizzeria Hewal is responsible for the catering in the indoor pool restaurant. The Secilmis family is opening a new restaurant there, which is of course also available to guests without visiting the indoor swimming pool.

The new Aqaro information homepage will go online in advance at www.aqaro.at on November 17th.

Of course, swimming courses will also be offered for every age group – from baby swimming to free crawl courses. Information about this is also available on the district indoor swimming pool homepage.

How much does the fun cost?

The tariffs were unanimously decided by the municipal council in September, are staggered and range from single entry (child: 5 euros, adult: 6.50 euros) to a two-hour or day ticket for families. Family prices are staggered: from one adult with one child (two hours: 8 euros; day ticket: 17 euros) to two adults with three children (two hours: 16.50, day ticket: 37.50 euros).

Buy tickets online

Tickets for the upcoming swimming days can then be purchased in the new online webshop. Tickets booked online entitle you to guaranteed entry on the booked day. If a card cannot be redeemed, this is of course also possible on other days (if the quota is available). There are also prepaid cards – the larger the value, the higher the discount.

A community project

This new indoor swimming pool could only be built because all 37 communities in the Rohrbach district pulled together and supported its implementation. The state of Upper Austria also made a significant contribution to the order value of around 15 million euros. “Architect Hagen Pohl has created a contemporary, attractive project that meets the needs of all sections of the population and also fits wonderfully into the Mühlviertel landscape,” says Rohrbach-Berg’s mayor Andreas Lindorfer. “Together with the company Berndorf Bäderbau as the general contractor, all those responsible and the companies involved implemented a really great project in the allotted time. The Leaderregion Danube-Bohemian Forest, the Oberes Mühlviertel business park and the Danube-Bohemian Forest regional association were significantly involved in the implementation. So The slide and the bouldering wall could be implemented as leader projects.”
