An 18-year-old Romanian drove a car from Waldzell towards Haag/Hausruck around 5:20 a.m. A 25-year-old Romanian sat next to him. According to the police, the driver was driving too fast on Kobernausser Straße and lost control of the car at the road divider shortly after a stop in Weiketsedt. He ended up on the left embankment of the road and the vehicle then rolled over several times in a field. Both men were able to exit the car independently via the driver’s door. A truck driver stopped at the scene of the accident, alerted the emergency services and, together with another driver, provided first aid.
The 18-year-old driver suffered unspecified injuries in the accident. After receiving initial medical care from the emergency doctor, he was taken to Ried Hospital by ambulance. The 25-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital by ambulance.
The car was totaled. When the vehicle was checked, serious defects in the tire tread were found.
