First against a street lamp, then against a house wall – this is how the journey of a 21-year-old who was traveling with three 20-year-olds from Uttendorf on Tuesday afternoon on the L1039 towards Maria Schmolln in the Braunau district ended. In Helpfau, the young Romanian who lives in the Braunau district may have lost control of his vehicle. He left the rain-soaked road to the right and hit a street lamp – whereupon his car turned 180 degrees and crashed into a house wall.

A community worker who happened to be passing by started the rescue chain. The 21-year-old and his passengers, two young men and a woman, were able to get out of the car themselves. The driver and two of the passengers received first aid from rescue and emergency doctors and were taken to Braunau Hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree.
