The accident occurred while working on a staircase on Thursday around 2.30 p.m. in a school in Hartkirchen (Eferding district): During assembly work, a prefabricated staircase module was assembled with a special crane at the exit to the basement, instructed by the foreman.
According to the police, the foreman repeatedly told the 54-year-old Croatian citizen from the Grieskirchen district that he had to take his hands away when moving the part of the stairs. When the crane driver put the part down, the 54-year-old’s right middle finger was crushed.
After initial treatment, the worker was taken to the Linz accident hospital.
