A civil police force from the state traffic department carried out speed measurements in the Hirschbach area in the Mühlkreis.

At around 8:20 a.m., a car was measured traveling at 192 km/h in the 100 km/h range on the B38 towards Schenkenfelden.

The pursuit began. The police officers drove after the speeder all the way to the municipality of Bad Leonfelden – where he was finally stopped and checked.

“Test drive” as an attempt at justification

The 21-year-old driver from the Urfahr-Raum district said the reason he was driving too fast was that it was a test drive.

He will be reported to the Freistadt district administration. The driver’s license was provisionally removed on site.
