Just as one of its sectors did earlier, the Socialist Party of Uruguay (PS)the FA called on its militants to accompany the popular mobilization on Monday, November 13, promoted by the union center and Fucvam.
The mobilization “for democracy and against corruption”, which aroused criticism from the government, will take place in Plaza Libertad in Montevideofrom 6:00 p.m.
The union center organized the march due to the consequences of the political crisis following the Marset case, something that did not go down well within the Executive Branch.
The Executive Secretariat of the opposition party decided to join the march “in the face of the serious events that have caused a political and government crisis that generated several resignations of top authorities and a judicial process that is still ongoing,” at the same time that it demanded direct explanations from the president. Luis Lacalle Pou for the delivery of the passport to the drug trafficker Sebastian Marset.
In turn, in the PS they assured that they are mobilizing because “drug trafficking is a form of transnational capital, which needs corrupt protectors and lives off the death of the poor.”
In the FA sector they went further and stated that there was “a concealment plot” around the delivery of the passport to the drug trafficker. Sebastian Marsetand that this was “one more pearl in an extensive necklace of corruption and shielding.”
Argimón: “The FA is the party of the PIT-CNT”
The Vice President of the Republic, Beatriz Argimonpointed out that the previous FA governments went through “complicated situations” and that no calls of these characteristics were made since the PIT-CNT for the case Pluna or the case Gas Sayago.
The vice head of state went further and stated that, for this reason, within the Multicolor Coalition They came to the conclusion that “obviously” the FA “is the party of the PIT-CNT“.
For his part, the minister Mieres He indicated that the initiative makes him “sad for the PIT-CNT“, and that, this year, the union center has already carried out several strikes against government reforms, but that this one is “incredible.”
According to Miereshe PIT-CNT is wanting to “give undue control” to the workers, since it does not believe that they feel that democracy is in danger in the Uruguay or that the government is “corrupt.”
