The single judge trial against two brothers aged 18 and 20 has been canceled and the new date is January 10th. The quartet had pleaded not guilty. The single judge did not see any breach of care by the two female defendants. They also did not know which pyrotechnic items were purchased in the Czech Republic. The public prosecutor’s office made no statement, meaning the verdict is not final.
The two brothers had suffered serious injuries themselves. In the opinion of her defense attorney, the events should be classified as “participation in self-endangerment,” the lawyer referred to a Supreme Court decision. In this context, according to the judge, the mental state of one of the two victims should now be examined in more detail using, among other things, vocational school certificates. On January 10th from 1 p.m., the deceased’s former teacher will be questioned as a witness.
