The Hamas fighters are in the process of fleeing to the south of the Palestinian territory and civilians are looting Hamas bases, Gallant said on Monday in a video broadcast by Israeli television stations. The civilian population “no longer trusts the government” of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli army, around 21 terrorists were killed in fighting near Al-Kuds Hospital. Israeli soldiers were fired upon by terrorists with two rocket-propelled grenades and smaller weapons from the entrance area of the hospital in Gaza, the army said on Monday. The attackers mingled with a group of civilians. The soldiers fired back and were also supported by the air force.

Other terrorists came from neighboring buildings, also mingled with civilians and fired at the soldiers. The attackers with the rocket-propelled grenades hid back in the hospital after the shelling. Around 21 terrorists were killed during the battle. The Israeli army suffered no losses. A tank was damaged.

“Fight until we destroy Hamas”

“This incident is another example of Hamas’ continued abuse of civilian structures, including hospitals, to carry out attacks,” the army said. With 700 beds, the hospital is the main clinical complex in the Gaza Strip and offers emergency and surgical care. Israel accuses Hamas of using the hospital as a command and control center.

Since ground operations began in the Gaza Strip around two weeks ago, the Israeli military says it has carried out a total of 4,300 attacks. The air force and ground troops were involved, the army said. Among other things, hundreds of firing positions for anti-tank missiles and around 300 tunnel shafts were hit. Around 3,000 targets were “terrorist infrastructure”. As the media office of the radical Islamic Hamas announced, at least 11,240 Palestinians have died in Israeli air strikes. Of these, 4,630 were children, it said.

According to Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Israel is preparing for the international pressure on its country to increase significantly within two to three weeks because of the Gaza war. Cohen said this during a conversation with journalists in Jerusalem, according to media reports. Cohen then made it clear that, in his view, there was “no running hourglass.” Israel will continue to fight “until we destroy Hamas and bring back the hostages,” he tweeted on X.
