The result for the period decreased from -26.6 to -11.9 million euros compared to the same period last year, while revenue increased from 636.7 to 699.1 million euros. The company announced on Tuesday that the main reason for this was the efficiency improvements implemented and higher sales prices for the vehicles delivered.
Rosenbauer turned the operating result (EBIT) from -31.8 to 11.2 million euros. The reduction in structural costs (expenses for R&D, sales and administration) also had a positive effect. Despite a weaker economic environment, the fire department equipment supplier recorded an increase of 24 percent to 1.02 billion euros in incoming orders from January to September compared to the previous year. With the exception of the preventive fire protection segment, all Rosenbauer sales regions increased their order intake. The order backlog also increased and amounted to 1.75 billion euros at the end of the third quarter (September 30, 2022: 1.36 billion euros).
The Rosenbauer Group Executive Board expects sales of 1.1 billion euros and an EBIT margin of around 3.5 percent (previously 3.0 percent) for the financial year. Increased efficiency from the “Refocus, Restart” program and higher sales prices of vehicles in production are responsible for the forecast increase in sales and margins. Rosenbauer expects the strongest sales growth in Europe and North America.
Rosenbauer, based in Leonding, develops and produces vehicles, firefighting technology, equipment and digital solutions for professional, company, factory and voluntary fire departments as well as systems for preventive fire protection. Rosenbauer has a sales and service network in around 120 countries. With a turnover of almost one billion euros, the local company claims to be the largest fire service equipment supplier in the world.
