The driver is believed to have left the road shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, skidded across a meadow and landed in the pond with the car. He was only slightly injured and had already left the car, which had stopped in the shallow pond, when the rescue workers arrived.

The recovery of the vehicle was bumpy: due to the ground being softened by rain, a recovery company had to cancel, and some fire brigade cranes were out of the question. Ultimately, the car was able to be lifted out of the water from a distance and placed back on solid ground.
