Under the title “Enemy image of climate glue – Is the form of protest really more important than the message?” SPÖ and Greens invited to an information and discussion event in Zwettl/Rodl. Mirko Javurek from Scientists for Future presented the scientific facts about man-made climate change and the effects of global warming. Elli Steiner presented Fridays for Future, and Friedrich Eibensteiner reported on the much-discussed climate glue actions of the last generation as part of their non-violent civil disobedience.
The discussion with National Council member Alois Stöger and state parliament member Anne-Sophie Bauer was about forms of activism and political responsibility. It was agreed that measures must be implemented quickly to protect everyone from a further rise in temperature and the associated crop failures, floods, droughts, forest fires or hail events.
