When he saves the life of a hairdresser, he doesn’t receive any money as a thank you, but rather a black wig. This also promptly accelerates his social rise from assistant gardener to personal secretary to the noble Lady of Cypressenburg. Because this career goes to his head, Titus quickly makes some enemies. Good theater entertainment that thrives on Nestroy’s typical artistic language as well as the amiable ensemble.
