181 citizens voted in favor of a referendum on the purchase of land for the new community center, thus clearing the hurdle of 168 necessary votes. “We will set the date for this at a specially called local council meeting on Wednesday,” says Mayor Klaus Bachmair (SP). As reported, the ÖVP and FPÖ decided to purchase the 3,500 m² property against the votes of the SPÖ. The referendum was initiated by Kematner citizen Harald Nimmerfall, who is in favor of renovating the existing office building and is against the planned new building.
