For reasons that are still unclear, there was a major oil leak in the municipality of Altmünster (Gmunden district). Several fire departments were deployed with two boats and set up oil barriers in Lake Traunsee to contain the spread of the oil. The police were alerted around 7:50 a.m. about an oil slick near Fischerweg. At the slipway there, an oil film was noticed that the heavy rain had already washed into Lake Traunsee.
