It’s about a Scotch whiskey, 42.8º alcohol, what was distilled in 1926, the oldest harvest of Macallan, and bottled 60 years later. It was matured in oak barrels, which gave it its dark color.
From the barrel this whiskey comes from only 40 bottles were produced and one of them, 70 cl, was sold in 2019 for almost 1.9 million dollars at the current exchange rate and the record until today, according to the AFP agency.
From the bottle sold on Saturday, One milliliter was extracted to carry out tests and compare it with another bottle from the 1926 vintage.and from now on it will be used as a reference for future comparisons.
