Police officers observed the sale on the street on the Mariahilfer Belt, became suspicious and eventually came across a well-known Slovakian who also admitted to stealing the vehicle. He was arrested.
The man still had the crime weapon, a pair of side cutters, with him, according to a police release on Sunday. The officers also found stolen goods that came from luggage theft at Vienna Central Station. The items were seized.
There is also a consequence for the buyer: after he had apparently been driving the scooter while impaired by drugs, he was asked to undergo an official medical examination, which he refused.
