The mayor of cannelloni and presidential candidate for Broad Front (FA), Yamandu Orsidoes not believe that elected president of Argentina, Javier Mileiwill be able to carry out several of the economic policies that he proposed during the campaign, because he will not have the support or the means to fulfill some of his promises.

The Frente Amplista leader stated this Monday at a press conference in Canelones that Javier Milei “He will not be able” to carry out some of the things he proposed, but that “is logical”, since it happens in any electoral campaign.

“The first messages (from Milei) take me back to the nineties of Argentina, I don’t know how far the reality is,” said the Canarian, who added that “perhaps” Argentina’s natural wealth and the upcoming “new developments” linked to gas, lithium and oil “will turn your back to do any of these things.

Orsi He noted that “he doesn’t know how much” it could affect the arrival of Milei to power in the neighboring country, but that “what is important for the Uruguay is that the trade mechanisms, which sometimes become complicated, can be oiled.”

The presidential candidate for the FA, who maintains a personal link with Sergio Massasince he was mayor of Tigre party (Province of Buenos Aires)was not surprised with the victory of Milei about this in the runoff, since in recent years “no country of Latin America has a government that is sustained by having levels of inflation high”.

“The Argentine sovereign resolved, there are millions of votes that define and we must not only respect the results, but also strengthen ties, sometimes maintaining distance,” he commented.

Orsi ruled out being worried about tensions with Argentina if he comes to power in 2025

On the other hand, he ruled out being concerned about the relations between Uruguay and Argentina in case of reaching the government in 2025, since when Tabare Vazquez was the president and Nestor Kirchner ruled in Argentina “we had the bridges cut.”

“It doesn’t have much to do with ideological affinity, it has to do with something else,” he pointed out, “even some reflections he has made (Milei) on Mercosur we could even subscribe,” he indicated.
