The long-awaited digital park management system in Bad Ischl goes into operation on December 13th. It applies to the municipal car parks Kaiserinsel, Rachesteg, Kongresshaus and Traunkai, and it will make parking easier – especially for holders of monthly and annual parking tickets.

The system no longer works with parking tickets. Instead, cameras record the license plates of incoming and outgoing cars.

Existing long-term parking cards remain valid and can be converted to the new system at the city office’s citizen service starting next Monday. Long-term parkers no longer have to show a card when they want to leave the parking lot. The barriers open automatically.

If you only occasionally park in the city center, you can pay with your ATM card at the exit column. Cash payers simply need to enter their license plate number into the machine.

The new parking tariffs decided by the local council will also apply from December 13th. They are noticeably higher than the old tariffs. In the future, locals will pay 240 euros instead of 170 euros for the annual ticket. The hourly rate is 2 euros (maximum 8 euros per day). The fee applies around the clock and also on public holidays. Between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. there is a 50 percent discount.
