The median of real estate prices measured in dollars It had a year-on-year variation of 1.15% in August, but the number of purchase and sale registrations decreased during the month of September.
The data comes from the latest technical bulletin on the Real Estate Activity Indicators (IAI) for the purchase and sale market for the August-September period prepared by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) based on records from the General Directorate of Records.
The median of the prices of property transactions estate in dollars it was established at 80,000 dollars and registered a monthly variation of 6.67% in August, and an accumulated variation during the last 12 months of 1.15%. In August of last year, the monthly variation had been 5.45%, while the annual variation was 21.67%.
Real estate sales registrations decreased by 8.47% in September
Regarding the number of purchase and sale registrations, in the month of September there was a negative monthly variation of 8.47% in August with 4,309 units, while at the annual level of decline it was 1.40%.
Of the 4,309 registrations of registered sales, 38.34% correspond to the department of Montevideo; 15.92% to that of Maldonado; followed by cannelloniwith 12.11%; Cologne, with 5.27%; and Rochawith 4.43% of the total.
66.15% of the transactions correspond to purchase and sale registrations for 4,309 units, while 30.93% (2,015 units) were priority reservations. The remaining 190 units (2.92%) correspond to other types of movements.
At the same time, there was a discharge in the median of the prices in dollars of sales registrations in August 2023 compared to the month of July for Montevideo of 9.87%, at the same time as an increase of 5.26% for the interior of the country.
