Christian Lang elected Farmers’ Association district chairman

Young Farmers’ State Chairman Christian Lang was unanimously elected Farmers’ Association District Chairman at the Farmers’ Association’s District Farmers’ Council. He is the successor to Chamber of Agriculture Vice President Rosemarie Ferstl.

Lang’s nomination as Farmers’ Union chairman took place in August at a district board meeting. The 28-year-old is scheduled to be elected chairman of the district chamber of farmers in December this year. Johann Prinz from Münzbach was also newly elected to the district board as deputy district chairman. Christian Lang from Baumgartenberg completed the higher agricultural and forestry federal college in St. Florian from 2009 to 2014. After graduating from high school and subsequent military service, he took over his grandparents’ farm with a focus on keeping laying hens, farming and direct marketing in his home community.

Lang has been politically active for many years in various municipal, district, state and federal functions. He has been the Young Farmers State Chairman since 2019 and has been the Deputy Chairman of the Young Farmers Austria and Chamber of Agriculture Councilor in Upper Austria since 2021. In addition to his political commitment, Christian Lang is an enthusiastic hunter and is involved in the local volunteer fire department. “I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the members of the District Farmers’ Council for their great trust. As district chairman, I will represent the interests of family farms in the best possible way and be a mouthpiece for the Perg farmers,” Lang wants to be a mouthpiece for the farmers in the Perg district .

One of the first to congratulate the new district chairman was regional councilor Michaela Langer-Weninger: “As Upper Austria’s farmers’ association regional chairwoman, I congratulate Christian Lang on his election. He is the ideal person for this position, is responsive to people and has an ear for the concerns of farmers Farmers. I wish him all the best in his new role.” Lang’s predecessor Rosemarie Ferstl also expressed a great deal of trust: “Christian Lang will do his best to support the concerns of agriculture and forestry. Through his years of work in various functions and levels, he was able to gain a lot of political experience and build a good network.”

Lang’s predecessor Rosemarie Ferstl was elected Farmers’ Association district chairwoman of Perg in 2014 and has been LK Vice President since June 2023. Langer-Weninger paid tribute to Ferstl for her successful work: “Rosemarie Ferstl has been able to move and achieve a lot in the interests of the farmers through her work in the Perg district. As Vice President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Agriculture, she is constantly continuing on this path.”
