Generation City Councilor Thomas Pamminger (ÖVP) is calling for more apartments for older people in Vöcklabruck. Retirement home places are only available for people from care level four. “But many don’t need a home at all,” says Pamminger. “You need living arrangements that are barrier-free and well served by public transport.”
In Vöcklabruck there is a long waiting list for senior housing or assisted living. Pamminger therefore suggests creating living arrangements for older people in the Pfarrerfeld district, in the vicinity of the municipal retirement home. The municipality should check the areas to which it has access accordingly, demands the ÖVP city council.
