Lofer: 31-year-old is said to have shot his mother (55) with a shotgun

A 31-year-old from Salzburg made an emergency call in the afternoon on Thursday saying that he had shot his mother in their household in Lofer. He was arrested by law enforcement officers while he was still on the phone. The suspect made a full confession during his interrogation, but gave inconclusive information about the motive to date.

The police then found the killed 55-year-old Pinzgau woman in the living room of the house, and a shotgun was seized as the murder weapon. According to the information, the 31-year-old was legally in possession of the murder weapon. There are no witnesses to the crime, which was committed in the afternoon hours. The evaluation of traces, the exact course of the crime and the determination of the actual motive are the subject of the ongoing investigations by the Salzburg State Criminal Police Office. The Salzburg public prosecutor ordered an autopsy of the body and the arrest of the 31-year-old. After the initial measures have been completed, he will be taken to the Salzburg prison.
