Construction work has started on the future center for health and age-appropriate living “Pebios” in Perg. On Friday – in pouring rain – the official groundbreaking ceremony for this project was held, from which those involved not only expect an end to the current shortage of general practitioners in the district capital, but also a significant urban development impulse in the “second row” behind Herrenstrasse .

The “Pebios”, which consists of two buildings, is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, the heart of which will be a primary care center for general medicine including associated specialist practices and other health services. “We put a lot of energy into planning over the past few months and looked at every detail three or four times until everything was right,” says builder Matthäus Wimmer about the project. Mayor Anton Froschauer (VP) is convinced that the city will benefit in the long term from this effort: “I am happy about this groundbreaking for two reasons: firstly, because we can start a project that is immensely important for Perg’s infrastructure and secondly, because it “It is built on a property that has already been developed and we are not sealing up valuable land.”

Sixth cash desk for Perg

The medical project management for Pebios is Michael Arvanitakis and Dominik Bammer. “With completion in just over a year, three general practitioners will be there for the population in Pebios,” says Arvanitakis about the future PVZ. These three insurance offices were also approved by the Medical Association Curia at a meeting two weeks ago. This means that the district town will have six statutory health insurance doctor’s offices in the future. Recently five were planned, but only three of them are currently occupied.

“The fact that Perg was approved for this sixth cash register is largely thanks to the efforts of Toni Froschauer, who threw his entire political weight into this. In view of the increasing population, this increase was approved,” said Arvanitakis on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony to the OÖnews. Raiffeisenbank Perg is the financial partner for the construction of the Pebios.

Arvanitakis is in regular contact with the team of doctors who will start working in the future health center in Schwertberg at the end of 2025 – see information box: “We want to cooperate closely, for example to bring medical experts to the region whose expertise can be requested by both primary care centers . That would be a great advantage for our patients.”
