This emerges from an email that the Gmunden Childminders Association sent to the affected parents. The club’s financial situation has “continuously deteriorated in recent years,” it says in the letter. The amount of payments from the state of Upper Austria “has not been adjusted for years despite constant interventions by childminders associations,” criticizes the managing president, Gerda Dallamassl. Despite numerous savings measures, the club was “over-indebted”. For this reason, childcare can no longer be offered from next Monday, November 27th.
“We have been warning for months that such failures would occur,” says state parliament member Julia Bammer (Neos). According to reports, the affected companies are currently trying to find a solution.
