After the release of 24 hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, the Argentine Government issued a statement on the matter.
The Argentina celebrated this Friday the beginning of the truce between Israel and Hamas, which allows the release of hostages kidnapped by the Palestinian Islamist group. He also appreciated the increase and the facilitation of the entry of international humanitarian aid for the civilian population of the Gaza Strip.

This is what was expressed by the Argentine Foreign Ministry in a statement issued this afternoon, in which it also “claims the intervention of Qatar, Egypt and the United States in the conclusion of the agreement between Israel and Hamas” for the release of the hostages and a ceasefire.


“Our country rrecognize and be grateful the mediation carried out by Qatar, and all the efforts of Egypt and the USA to reach this truce, hoping that these actions keep going”expressed the Palacio San Martín.
Likewise, the national government reiterated his “call for the urgent release continues and without conditions of all Israeli hostages and other nationalities, among them the Argentines who are captive”.
On the other hand, the official document highlights the role played by Argentina in the face of the “serious humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip” joining the “efforts of the international community through the sending of supplies and two missions of experts from the International Cooperation Agency and Humanitarian Assistance-White Helmets”.
Finally, he emphasizes that “Argentina hopes that this humanitarian truce drive also to cessation of hostilitiesas requested by the United Nations General Assembly.”
Last Wednesday, Israel and Hamas they reached an agreement for the release of at least 50 hostages held by the Islamist group in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, in addition to establishing a four day truce in the Gaza Strip after weeks of Israeli offensive and entry into the besieged territory of large amount of humanitarian aid.
