The entry of the humanitarian convoy comes after the four-day humanitarian truce that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu negotiated with Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, came into effect yesterday morning after weeks of hostilities.
The truce agreement, agreed with the mediation of Qatar, stipulates the release of 50 Israeli hostages, mostly women and children, in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners and the entry of humanitarian aid, medical supplies and fuel to Gaza.
A total of 24 hostages, 13 of them Israeli, ten Thai and one Filipino, were handed over yesterday by Hamas to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza, while Israel freed 39 women and adolescents from its prisons, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
According to Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Israel will resume hostilities after the end of the ceasefire and will continue them “until the end of Hamas rule in Gaza and the release of all abductees.”

Eight of these trucks contained medical supplies as well as medicines, while another four vehicles arrived loaded with hospital beds for the dozens of wounded who have moved towards the southern Gaza Strip in an attempt to leave the Palestinian enclave.
The remaining 180 trucks transported water, food and other types of aid and humanitarian assistance for the Gazan population, following the Israeli counteroffensive that left nearly 15,000 dead, initiated in response to the Hamas attacks on October 7 that left 1,200 people dead. The vast majority were civilians, and more than 240 people were held hostage, including twenty Argentines.
Around 200 trucks of humanitarian aid are expected to enter Palestinian territory every day for the most affected Gazan population.
Since October 21, a total of 1,759 trucks with humanitarian aid entered the enclave.
