A total of 35,000 pairs will be purchased by 2025, for which the Ministry of Defense has budgeted 4.83 million euros in costs, according to a press release. On Monday, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP) handed over the newly purchased boots to the 35th Panzer Grenadier Battalion stationed in Lower Austria.
“The safety of our soldiers is our top priority, and the purchase of the new combat boots is another step in this direction,” said Tanner. With the new combat boots you not only invest in the protection of the soldiers, but also in their performance and operational readiness.
The beige boots are manufactured by the Austrian company Rukapol, which specializes in the production of safety boots. To date, 15,000 pairs have been delivered. Two more units, the Pioneer Battalion 3 and the Hunter Battalion 19, are to be equipped this year.
