It is an initiative by 15 booth operators at the Südbahnhof market that will make a new event format possible starting at the end of this week. “Winter at the Market” is the name.
Until Christmas, there will be a winter market atmosphere to enjoy and shop every Friday and Saturday in the afternoon until 6 p.m. There’s a lot to choose from, from hot chestnuts, bratwursts, meatloaf variations to Christmas bock beer, mulled cider, Schilcher mulled wine and punch to vanilla crescents, Kletzen bread and baked mice.
A music program will also ensure that the Südbahnhofmarkt remains inviting even after 6 p.m. On December 1st, the Magistratsmusik plays from 3 p.m. On December 15th, 22nd and 23rd, Klaus Niederhuber serves his traditional and modern Christmas carol repertoire.
For the children to make a note: On December 2nd, Santa Claus can be found at the Südbahnhofmarkt from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. On December 6th, Santa Claus will also distribute small gifts to the children at the Christmas market on the main square and at the Christmas market in the Volksgarten from 3 p.m.
