The North Korean government authorities confirmed that the new military satellite took images of the White House, Pentagon, city of Rome and other American “targets”, which were received by the president Kim Jong-un.

The state agency KCNA confirmed the reports after the launch of the satellite: “Kim Jong-un has received (…) the report on photographic data of the Italian city of Rome, (…) of the Anderson Air Force Base in Guam (Pacific Ocean), (…) of the Norfolk Naval Base, the Newport News shipyard and an airport (all in the state of Virginia) and others from the White House, the Pentagon and other Washington targets.

In addition, at the Norfolk naval base and the Newport shipyard, four nuclear aircraft carriers of the US Army and another aircraft carrier belonging to the United Kingdom, according to official information cited by the Europa Press news agency.

For its part, South Korea harshly criticized the launch of the satellite, which it described as a “spy” and which, according to that country’s intelligence, was carried out as a result of the cooperation between Russia and North Korea after the summit held between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim last September, following two failed attempts by Pyongyang to launch a military satellite into orbit.
